Pantera je bio popularni hevi metal sastav iz Arlingtona, Teksas. Osnovan je 1981. i često svrstavan u podžanr gruv metal. Prvi komercijalni uspeh bend je ostvario albumom Cowboys from Hell. Tekstovi Panterinih pesama uglavnom govore o ljubavi, metalu i životnim pitanjima. Bend je završio svoju karijeru 2003. godine zbog nesloge. Sledeće godine je ubijen gitarista Dajmbeg Darel Abot dok je nastupao sa svojim novim bendom Damageplan.
