Ekscentrični pronalazač (Vinsent Prajs u svojoj poslednjoj filmskoj ulozi) stvorio je veštačkog dečaka Edvarda (Džoni Dep). Edvard ima sve što jedan pravi momak treba da ima, sa izuzetkom šaka. Na njihovom mestu su dugački ekstremiteti koji liče na makaze. Sa njima može da šiša živu ogradu, ali ne i da obavlja druge, uobičajene funkcije. Kada pronalazač umre, Edvard ostaje sam. Na njega će se sažaliti Peg Bogs (Dajen Vist) i odvesti ga u svoju kuću. Uprkos mogućnosti da saseče i povredi svakoga na koga naiđe, Edvard je nežno stvorenje čija je najveća želja da bude voljen. Zaljubljuje se u Peginu ćerku Kim (Vinona Rajder) koja se zabavlja sa lokalnim siledžijom Džimom (Entoni Majkl Hol). Edvard postaje popularan kada se otkrije njegov neverovatni talenat za šišanje žive ograde i ljudi...

Tužan film... Bedak... Podseća me na priču o Pinokiu... Jeste da je film urađen na malo bizaran način, ali nije loš.
